Great Scott

Good greif! I've been way busy with school and stuff for the past while, but I do have some K! stuff in the works that should be showing up soon.

Projects in progress:
  • Series of three different cards to give to friends / enemies (you decide!) - they're like a cross between a greeting card and a postcard... A grostcard? There's got to be a better name out there.
  • A series of posters and booklets as part of a campaign/side project called Heavy Hearted (the first poster/booklet combo of this is almost finished)
  • A small series of cards I'm making out of my love for the board game Risk.
  • A booklet dedicated to the Ampersand (&)!
The weather has been pretty terrific lately, and here are some websites I've been perusing a lot recently (I'm a fan of lists...) :
I've finally made a flickr account and hopefully I'll put stuff up there soon and stop being lazy.
More to come soon!

Winter Breakdown

I'm easily the worst at life. I haven't updated this in a long time. I have however been doing some crafting (and so has K! teammate betsy!). I made christmas cards and envelopes and sent some out to kids which was a surprisingly pretty involved project. Betsy has been busy / is busy making ridiculously awesome stuffed animals. She made me an awesome long-neck, club-tail dinosaur and is working on an evil owl aka creature of the night. (Pictures of all this coming really soon)

I think soon I'm going to try to start doing an offshoot side project dealing with t-shirt designs and stuff like that (always biting off more than I can chew) and I would REALLY love to get Coffin Stuffers going hard, but like I said, I'm the worst at life.

In other news, I made a bunch of K! buttons, if you'd like one, just give me a holler.

(Sorry about the crummy photo)

In the works

Things are going pretty steady at KAMIKAZE, picking up speed here and there. I've made one pair of mittens, and soon I'll be making them for a few friends who want them. I altered this awesome pullover, added a hood to it, and soon I'll add a breast pocket featuring the KAMIKAZE logo. There are a few more of those I need to do as well. I printed some buttons, so in the near future I'll assemble those and that will be neat. Also, I finally made it to Franklin to pick up my screen and squeegee, so patches and such will be coming forthwith!

I'll post pictures of all this stuff soon, in the meantime craft or perish!

Kamikaze Kickoff

Today marks the beginning of KAMIKAZE - something I've been wanting to do for a long while but that has just recently taken flight (pun not intended, but definitely welcomed).

KAMIKAZE is basically my homage to handmade and do it yourself crafts. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to convince some more kids to participate, but right now I'm flying solo (again with the puns...). Immediate project plans include: 1" buttons, screen printed patches, fanny packs (which will be given a new name when I think of one that's good enough), hoodies, and mittens.

I made a pair of mittens earlier to kick things off and show myself that I'm really going to commit time and energy to this endeavor and not just talk about it like I usually do.

I'll of course post pictures of things as they are made and use this space to document the flight (love it) of KAMIKAZE.
